Energy Supplier The Brief Location: Staines, UK Procurement Method: Traditional/Tendered Our Role: Full Design Responsibility We were briefed to create an interior that reflects the “home care” packages that are offered by this energy supplier to their own clients. This enabled us to inject the offices with colour and pattern through the introduction of soft seating areas for collaboration, reflection and focus to bring a residential style to the space. Centralised tea points create spaces for cross pollination of teams to communicate with adjacent library lounges for informal meetings to be conducted, with lockers installed to ensure total flexible working with height adjustable workstations and fixed height benches, giving each user the freedom to suit their way of working. The introduction of acoustic screens and feature lighting throughout help to control the space giving landmarks for orientation.
Tech Company The Brief Procurement Method: Traditional Our Role: Design Consultants Our brief was to design a space to enable our client to conduct their growing relationships and business with their clients and partners while also showcasing their forward way of thinking. Introducing a cafe culture and breaking away from the traditional meeting environment enabled visitors and employees to build relationships and work more effectively on collaborative projects. Cafe furniture and lounge spaces with loose rugs and feature planting create a domestic feel to the space. Feature timber and lights soften the exposed concrete ceiling. Moving through to the working space, there is a central collaboration space with a large dining table, a semi-private booth and lockers for staff. The open plan workspace has height-adjustable workstations alongside high benches with draughtsman’s stools to enable people to work in the posture that suits them best. A mixture of meeting facilities including fixed rooms, lounge spaces, open meeting tables and individual telephone booths result in an agile space for this technology giant.

Watford Football Club – Members Restaurants – The gallery and the view The Brief Procurement Method: Design & Build Our Role: Design Lead – understand the brief, look and feel concept, presentation, materials, furniture, technical design, site co-ordination One of our existing clients, Fabulous Fanfare, already provided catering services to Manchester City Football Club and they won the contract to provide catering services for the next 10 years at Watford Football Club. Part of that remit was to look at the existing catering facilities at the club. We worked in partnership with our sister company, CMI Architecture to deliver a bespoke space within very tight timescales. Our objective was to take a poor hospitality offering, which was not fit for purpose, and apply fresh thinking and a new approach to enable Watford Football Club to create a bespoke restaurant space within the stadium.
BMI The Brief Our Role: Full design responsibility and construction management Following a number of acquisitions, building products manufacturer BMI Group was left with several small local offices and contact centres. In order to consolidate those spaces, a new central location was chosen in Milton Keynes that could accommodate scattered teams and provide the impetus to create a single unified team. The aim was to bring the whole space to life, creating a buzz, encouraging collaboration and interaction across the newly-merged teams. Our client wanted to demonstrate their commitment to the workforce by bringing the whole space up to the same quality levels as other offices in the group.
